The Land of Enchantment

Valles Caldera National Preserve

This is another of my aperiodic apologetic notes to say that HSR will not be updated while I’m out exploring some parks (and a whole lotta hot air balloons) with the family this week.  Look for some interesting tales next week — I’m hoping we’ll get to see Petroglyph, Bandelier, Pecos, and Fort Union — all in New Mexico, as well as the Valles Caldera National Preserve — which isn’t a part of the National Park Service, but is a new take on public/private land stewardship.  Check out their website if you get a chance — it looks like one of those “best kept secret” places you don’t tell anyone about once you’ve been there.  So… ahem… if I have nothing to say about it upon my return, you’ll know how good it was!

Have a great week, and get out there and see your parks.
